Lava is a Swedish company with a vision. They built "Scandinavia", the first Android-powered TV set.

The first model to ship will be a 42-inch set that costs around $2,500, followed by 47” and 55” units. Powering each device will be an ARM Cortex-A8 based processor. Since it is poweful enough to run Flash, streaming full HD should be possible.

The TV set comes with Android 1.5 and can be upgraded. Some Google apps like YouTube, Google Maps, Weather, Time, Calendar, and Browser will be included, but not the official app store, since Lava will run its own.

Lava takes this step, because Google does not (yet) support apps for such big displays. Lava says the open source community will provide the apps along with partners like Facebook and Twitter.

No release date so far--Lava does not say whether the TV is already available or not. At least they offer a list of retailers around Europe.
